General note
An early version of a kabbalistic and philosophical treatise composed in 5083=1322/3. A much longer version composed in Constantinople in 1367 comprising over 500 densely written folios is extant in MSS Paris, BnF héb. 727-728.
General note
The author was obviously influenced by the writings of Abraham Abulafia, though he does not refer to Abulafia by name.
General note
On f. 86r Kalkish recounts a vision he experienced on the banks of the great river in the town of Trapezitsa על יד הנהר הגדול בעיר טרפזיצא. Trapezitsa is the name of a village in northern Greece, but it is possible that the author was referring to the Trapezitsa mountain range in Greece or Bulgaria.
