Description
Summary Sinhalese prose and verse composition to bestowing auspicious blessing paper on Christian father, Don Bernard Reñño. Usually both prose and verse are used in order to bestow Christian father, Don Bernard Reñño. Usually when scribing palm-leaf manuscript, both recto and verso are used for writing. But in this palm leaf-manuscript, only recto has been used for writing.
General note Arabic numerals are given on the right side of each folio from 1 to 5. After auspicious greeting (vijaya ṡrī rastu), the colophon gives detail about Don Bernard Reñño, who is teacher in Dharma (teaching in Christinaity), the resident of ṡrī Vardhanapura, in the Central province, the father (Christian title). The teaching staff along with students of Saint Thomas College, Matale composed as bestowing this auspicious blessing paper on account of the maiden visit (by Don Bernard Reñño) at the Saint Thomas College (f. 1r). The logo of the Saint Thomas College has been painted.
