Overview Two unrelated Buddhist texts from Cambodia, both used in public sermons. Text 1 is the dominant Pali-Khmer sermon version of the Abhidhammatthasaṅgaha of Anuruddha, complete in nine fascicles. The Pali excerpts cited are short and the explanations in Khmer are quite long and detailed. This version circulated widely in Cambodia in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; it maybe have been composed in the eighteenth century or earlier. The colophon is long and detailed regarding the aspirations of the scribe, though it is undated. Text 2 includes several presentations of the non-canonical Candasukagirī-sutta. It begins with the complete Pali text, which is to be chanted by the monk or monks giving the sermon first. This is followed by a short Khmer-language statement of the benefits of listening to the recitation of this text, and then a longer Pali-Khmer sermon that details these benefits in the narrative form of a non-canonical jātaka, here called the Dhammikapaṇḍita-jātaka.
